Why Should You Customize with Pemco?
Oftentimes a project’s requirements demand specific and complex design solutions. Customization gives you the ability to meet those requirements by designing a unique product that is suitable for your project. Do you need a solution for a custom pole and a custom light fixture? Architects and specifiers have the ability to focus on the end user’s needs without having to shop around. Do you need a flexible manufacturing process? At Pemco, our manufacturing process gives you the ability to make multiple changes and configurations of the standard product and the development of a new product. Also, you can use our custom capabilities to draw and match inspiration from any competitor’s product. Pemco’s custom modifications allow architects, specifiers, and end-users to tweak standard products to their specific needs with limited cost implications. Do you have a large-scale project that needs practical design and build specifications? Pemco can modify any large-scale project to offer you a full-blown custom product.
What Sets Us Apart
Pemco is well known as the go-to manufacturer for premium custom and modification work. At Pemco, our two in-house manufacturing engineers have extensive experience in the industry, which means we can quickly and easily develop a solution for any custom project. Our manufacturing process is further streamlined by a vertically integrated supply chain for the supply of LED array and component parts. Additionally, Pemco works directly with local foundries to source local supplies of aluminum extrusions and substrates as well as to provide premium high quality, efficient, and consistent A365 aluminum sand castings.
With Pemco, you can expect efficiency and quality at each stage of the design process — from request to concept, to manufacturing, to shipping. Every Pemco casting and component is hand-dipped in an iron phosphate bath prior to the application of a super durable polyester powder coat finish that gives all our products longer life without the potential of fading or color shift.
It is part of our mission to ensure you the utmost customer service satisfaction. To this end, our customer service team consists of experts who are ready to assist you through each stage of the manufacturing process. In total, we have sixty-five global sales agencies who specialize in LED outdoor lighting with custom specification projects and our in-house sales team has a combined 100 years selling products in the lighting industry. No matter the customization needs, Pemco’s team offers unparalleled in-house service and expertise.

Pemco’s fixtures are well-suited for a variety of environments. Pemco’s LEDs are IP66 rated for total dust and water ingress. IP ratings are given to products based on the level of intrusion of water and dust particles. Pemco’s IP66 rating indicates that the fixtures are sealed against water leaks if underwater at 18” for a period of up to twenty-four hours. Pemco’s turtle safe lights are certified through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). Our turtle safe lights keep light from intruding on turtle beach nesting grounds; the fixtures are mounted low to the ground using a light source with a longer wavelength of 595 nanometers, and all lights are shielded to keep light from going above ninety degrees.
Pemco’s products are fully certified and regulated. All of Pemco’s products are listed by the Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL) and Candian Standards Association (CSA) under Underwriters Laboratories (UL) guidelines. UL is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that test product for safety standards; that means all of Pemco products are certified safe for installation and according to national electrical code.
In addition, Pemco is certified by the National Lighting Board (NLB) – this certification indicates that our products meet multiple service, objective quality standards and features, and practices that the NLB has set forth. Are you in need of outdoor lighting that meets industry standards but is also environmentally-friendly? Pemco’s full cutoff fixtures are not only NLB certified but are dark sky compliant according to industry standards to minimize glare, light pollution, light trespass, and skyglow.
Pemco’s products are Buy American Act compliant, which means Pemco meets the two conditions that must be present for the Buy American Act to apply, as listed in the United States Code (USC): the procurement must be intended for public use within the United States and the items to be procured or the materials from which they are manufactured must be present in the United States in sufficient and reasonably commercial quantities of satisfactory quality.
